Just divide the 4.6sq.km land into half-half

By Anonymous

I applaud the Indonesian government for playing an active role in reassuring a ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand. I would like to see the Indonesian military positioning themselves inside the so-called 4.6sq.km "disputed" territory claimed by Thailand. The spineless ASEAN must create a peace keeping force as a referee to stop any two member nations from beating the living craps out of each other. This is not just pertaining to Thailand and Cambodia, but any ASEAN members who in future may have to face border issue between neighbors that might result in armed clashes.

There is no way in hell that Thailand will get all that piece of 4.6km land to itself. At the same time, there is no way in hell Cambodia would allow itself to lose every inch of that 4.6km to Thailand, after all, it was part of Cambodia land. This "disputed" land was something made up by Thailand as a bargaining chip in order to have closer access to Preah Vihear temple for the future invasion of the temple. My suggestion is, just divide up that land into half-half. Thailand and Cambodia would get 2.3km each side. This way everyone should be happy. No fighting over who is getting what. As far as Preah Vihear temple is concerned, Cambodia has every damn right to do what she wants, after all, ICJ had rewarded it to Cambodia in 1962. Thailand need to understand that it had failed to prove that Preah Vihear is Thailand's property. Preah Vihear temple is in Cambodia's possession. So Thailand needs to stay off the subject of Preah Vihear forever.

I know the ICJ's decision in 1962 greatly upset Thailand, so 2 years later in 1964, Thailand stirred up a fight with Cambodia just to keep Cambodia away from having Preah Vihear to herself. I know one thing for sure, Thailand does not like to lose anything to little Cambodia. It will not compromise with Cambodia. It wants everything, the 4.6km2 and Preah Vihear temple. That is why it did what it had done, to get what it wants, even invading Preah Vihear which Thailand had attempted unsuccessfully, at least for now.

Dear author: You just said "there is no way in hell Cambodia would allow itself to lose every inch of that 4.6km to Thailand", but at the same time you are suggesting that "My suggestion is, just divide up that land into half-half. Thailand and Cambodia would get 2.3km each side".
Your suggestion is outrageous. How on earth can you suggest to share Cambodia's land with another country. The 4.6km2 doesn't exist, it has never been mentioned in the international court judgment in 1962 and according to the French-Siamese map drawn in 1908, all the land around Preah Vihear temple are situated under Khmer territory. So, why should Cambodia share its land with Thailand, the same as Thailand would never share its land with Cambodia.

Can you share your wife with someone else? can you give half of your own home paid off by you to someone else? can you cut your dauther and son and your parent in half and give to prdator? if you can do that your ancestor will not blame you idiot.

The following is a translation of the French text at 7:59 PM.

"This is not so simple as you think! You want to cut the pear in half a few years, they want the other half.
The Thais have no words, no faith, liabilities or signatures seriously.
Preah vhear is awarded to Cambodia in 1962 by the ICJ, the entire planet knew, 40 years after they begin to question the ground nearby.
It's like you build a house, built on land, but not in the air.
Absurd!
Siems the dream, if there is a war on their side have not lost. It is 2011, I do not think the Khmer new generations will let them.
To calm the thais, we must boycott their products. . Each year, Siems import several billion dollars to Cambodia.
Personally, you will not see me ever landed in Bangkok.
Thai company, I will take over. You know, the economic war is as effective as the war with guns.
For now, it is necessary that the Khmer darken the UN, the ICJ.
Stay vigilant!
It is not the time Longvek".

That doesn't make any sense. We are thriving to protect our land from the beginning. How could you suggested such thing to us. I know your intention which your are trying to help avoid the war by suggesting this but it ever never gonna work that way. We are KHMER never said that we have a dispute land, ONLY Thai claims such thing. We will use our legal documents and actions to slap Thai in the face.

Take it easy, folks.

Sit down for a while and cool down.

I think you are too hard on the author.

Take a deep breath and think deeply and don't allow your patriotism cloud your mind. Think about the about reasonably. Remember that the existence of this world is not based on justice, but power.

Think hard because all of you blame the author, but none of you are at the forefront ready to fight the Thais.

Can we seriously call on you who talk like you love Cambodia so much to come down here with your children and families to help us fight the Thais?

From the pictures I only see poor Khmers holding the guns and ready to fight to protect the land. All of you who are sitting in front of the computers in the comfort of your home talk big, but have not even sent a dollar to these poor soldiers to help their families and yet you jump on this author as if he is a traitor.

Now sit down, cool your head and think again if your planned war with Thailand is going to help Cambodia much. Don't forget that cambodia is losing much more land on the eastern front.

You can't fight 2 ennemies at the same time, especially when they are much bigger than you.

Remember that patriotism is in what you do and not what you say.

We are already losing eastern but why you want us to lose western. I donated about US$6900 so far for soldiers and unfortunate Khmer and I just got job for 3 years I am 23 years old and how about you? Mr/Mrs/Ms 7:54 AM. I would like to tell you that I am a citizen of other country but I did not forget my origin thatwise I keep donate to my country of origin that my help. I have to obey the laws of my adopted country thatwise most of us can not go to war with Thailand without our adopted country aproval.

After finishing the first paragraph, I was expecting a great and new idea in order to help solve the conflict. However, it turned to be idiot! Still sitting wondering how come the writer could come up with such a illogical idea... The 2nd paragraph absolutely contradicts the opening argument!!
